Dr. Curtis M. Walker
Ed.D.
Curtis Walker is a dedicated champion for student success with more than two decades of experience in education. His career has included roles as teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal, each allowing him to prioritize both the academic and emotional growth of students. He currently serves as Supervisor of Child Welfare & Attendance for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools, where he leverages data analysis and resource allocation to support families and improve student attendance. In this role, he collaborates with educators, families, and community stakeholders to identify barriers and implement resources that help reduce chronic absenteeism.
Curtis holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University, where he continues to engage with faculty and colleagues to advance best practices in preparing students to thrive in a global society. He is particularly focused on addressing student emotional well-being, recognizing the critical role of school climate and social-emotional learning programs in strengthening engagement and reducing absences. His leadership reflects a belief that strong relationships and cohesive collaboration are essential to improving student achievement.
